Have spent almost half my life living in the city (Sydney), though I’m a country boy at heart. Gay. Single.
Although I have had an online presence for longer, I have been maintaining this space continuously since May 2002. It began, initially, as a travel blog, to keep my friends in touch with what I was up to while living and working in the Northern Territory. Along the way, it evolved as a creative writing space, and in that regard it’s really helped my writing skills. For a period, it became a personal feedback space where I could self-monitor my life’s activities. It’s become a bit of an archive for some of my important professional work. And of course, it’s also been an amazing space to share my genealogical research with others and to learn from them. In the world of short, seemingly temporary, often banal comments on Twitter, Facebook etc, it’s an important space for me to maintain a sustained online presence. I do it mostly for myself, but hope you might get something out of it also.
