This photograph was taken in 2004 on the road between Karratha and Dampier in Western Australia. I was living in Perth at the time and, through work, travelled extensively around WA. I thought Karratha was a pretty ugly town, and Dampier only marginally better. But the landscape and the road between the towns was pretty spectacular. It’s also kinda symbolic of my love of the flat expanse of the Australian outback.
