South Lismore Railway Station
The South Lismore Railway Station has seen a lot over the years. It was built in 1889 and served as a vital transportation hub for the region for over a century. However, the station has been closed for a number of years, due to flooding and damage from the 2017 and 2022 floods.… Read the rest “South Lismore Railway Station”

Lismore’s New Bar
“That’s where our house was.”, I told Michelle, pointing to the Liberty Service Station which now occupies the block of 21 Kyogle Street, South Lismore. The house is no longer there. And there’s a feeling in the community (as evidenced by Facebook comments), it’s only a matter of time before we’re forced back into lockdown.… Read the rest “My Heart Sunk”

The Mystery of the “Cassette Shop” of South Lismore
There is an empty shop opposite the old Railway Station in South Lismore that has caught my attention.
Most weekdays I’ll take a walk down along Union Street to the Duck Pond Espresso to grab a take-away. I quite enjoy the walk, I enjoy the coffee, and I enjoy the chat with Noreen and Alex who run the coffee shop.… Read the rest “The Mystery of the “Cassette Shop” of South Lismore”

South Lismore at night
A few days ago I was inspired by a photograph on Instagram.
From what I can see, the photographer, Mark Kriedemann is a journalist at the local commercial radio station here in Lismore.
And when he’s not doing that, he’s a photographer who travels around the area taking lots and lots of photographs.… Read the rest “South Lismore at night”
