John HORE was a wealthy landowner of the Upper Murray area around Wymah NSW His property which was recently sold out of the family was “Mugwee”. Large parts of the former holding was taken over and flooded by the Hume Weir. John Hore Jnr (as he was known) was the eldest son of John Hore ( born Wexford Ireland) and who was transported to Australia as a convict about 1799 having been convicted of Mutiny whilst in the Royal Navy.
