Sunday Lunch

Although it’s great around Surry Hills, there’s nothing like a Bondi lunch at this time of year.
The weather was warm, and there was a great breeze, and so we settled on lunch at the Bondi Tratt.
Overlooking Bondi Beach, I got there a couple of minutes early and secured an outside table. With a bright sunny day and gentle breeze, we were in a prime position for a few hours of great conversation.
But not only was the conversation good, the service was good and the food was both bountiful and excellent. WE shared a cured meat antipasto which was large and tasty, and for mains had the angel hair pasta with tuna (M) and the spaghetti with spinach (J). Mine was very very tasty. On a great day like this, it was about as good as life gets.
As it was Bondi, I was half-expecting to see a few celebrities, but they seemed few and far between, except for the actor who played Tim in Holding The Man – he was also in a pizza commercial last year – who was seated next to us.
After lunch we headed off for a quick wine at a great little bar on Curlewis Street called The Shop and Wine Bar, where once again, the service was friendly and casual.
On the way home I stopped off at Centennial Park for a quick walk around the park, and to further enjoy the sunshine. With great weather like this, you have to make the most of it.
Walking around the park I had a soft-serve at about 5.45pm. I guess that was the desert part of my long Sunday lunch.
